Job Presentation

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising when necessary with the different departments within the Company and regulatory bodies on matters pertinent to AML/CFT
  • Assisting with the analysis of documentation pertinent to AML/CFT such as Risk Assessments, Customer Acceptance Policies and AML Policies and Procedures
  • Acting as the support officer in performing AML/CFT examinations where necessary to assess compliance with the AML/CFT obligations
  • Assisting the AML Manager with the drafting of reports of the findings identified during AML/CFT examinations
  • Organising and structuring examination files in line with the AML Units record-keeping policy
  • To monitor handle the day-to-day email of the compliance department
  • To handle onboardings and on-going monitoring of clients and reviewing of due diligence
  • Review of screening reports
  • Attend training related to the role or any other future roles
  • Ability to become the team lead after being trained
  • Monitoring of the team performance whilst adhering to internal deadlines
  • Assisting transaction monitoring of clients
  • Maintaining the internal registers up to date
  • To attend Board Meetings and shadow MLRO/Compliance Manager in Board Meetings
  • To monitor junior officers and delegation of tasks
  • To review customer files and ensure proper organisation
  • To draft AML handbooks and create SOPs for any procedural changes in AML department
  • Performing any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time from Compliance Manager
  • Ability to grow in the role with a clear path for progression

Requirements

  • Bachelors or masters degree in law or criminology, banking or any other related field
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a similar role
  • Exposure to areas like corporate service provider/ audit firm or banking will be considered as an asset
  • Ability to be self-motivated and take ownership in a dynamic environment with a positive, can-do mindset.
  • A good command of the English language (both written and spoken)
  • Sound knowledge of AML/CFT Laws and Regulations governing the EU and Malta
  • Good report writing skills and ability to present findings in a written and oral format
  • Must possess excellent analytical and investigative skills
  • Independent worker with the ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Excellent organisational skills and take pride in being quality-oriented with a keen eye for detail and coming up with creative solutions
  • Be approachable and an effective communicator across all levels of the business and influence key internal and external stakeholders and provide expert advice to support the strategic agenda
